Red Sox edge Angels by 2

Red Sox pitcher John Lackey (4.26 ERA) got the win, while Jered Weaver (3.19 ERA) took the loss for the Angels. John Lackey went 7.1 solid innings for the Red Sox, allowed 7 hits, one home run and 2 earned runs with one walk and 4 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Red Sox was Daniel Bard (1.84). The Angels’s starter Jered Weaver went 7 innings, allowed 6 hits, no home runs and 2 earned runs with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. Kevin Jepsen (4.50), and Brian Fuentes (3.86) also pitched for the Angels. With the win, Lackey’s record goes to 10-5, while Weaver drops to 9-7. Jonathan Papelbon earned the save for the Red Sox, bringing his saves up to 24.
